The scope:

-     evaluation of both phases of photosynthesis, PAR dependent and not-dependent, based on the measurements of main parameters of gas exchange, chlorophyll content and efficiency of radiation energy absorption by this pigment

-          knowledge on functioning of photosynthetic apparatus of plants under different growth environment, i.e. in controlled conditions (phytothron), semicontrolled (glasshouse, greenhouse) and under field conditions

-          investigation of plant photosystem II to abiotic stresses using chlorophyll a fluorescence technique, with its signal analysis (JIP test)

-          analysis of the complex responsible for water splitting as well studies on energy flow in photosystem II (solar energy absorption, its trapping by the reaction centres and electron transport rate)

-          elaboration of extension rules for plant management and fixing of new selection criteria, which due to the rapid and mass screening should to contribute to fastening of biological and breeding progress
